Washoe County Sheriff's Office investigating report of the possible attempted kidnapping of a thirteen-year-old boy in the Silver Knolls area

The Washoe County Sheriff's Office is investigating a report of the possible attempted kidnapping of a 13-year-old boy early this morning in the area of Silver Knolls Boulevard just east of Red Rock Road.

At approximately 5:00 p.m. today, the Sheriff's Office was contacted by a Silver Knolls resident who learned about the incident after the boy returned home from school.

Deputies were told that the boy was waiting for his school bus shortly before 7:00 a.m. this morning, Monday, April 23, 2018, when an unknown male approached in a vehicle. The suspect attempted to coax the boy into the suspect's vehicle. The boy refused and ran off. The suspect then drove away in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as a white male with dark brown hair, a beard, and silver streaks in his hair and beard. The suspect was reported to be wearing a black shirt.

The vehicle is described as a tomato red Subaru Baja with a partial license plate of "33."
