Property Unit
The Crimes Against Property Unit investigates felony property crimes occurring throughout the unincorporated areas of Washoe County and prepares cases for prosecution. Detectives assigned to this unit investigate a wide range of offenses, including residential and commercial burglaries, motor vehicle thefts, theft-related crimes, vandalism, and other crimes impacting personal and business property.
Working closely with patrol deputies, forensic investigators, prosecutors, regional law enforcement partners, and community members, detectives utilize investigative techniques, technology, and crime analysis to identify offenders, recover stolen property, and hold those responsible accountable. In addition to criminal investigations, the unit supports community education and prevention efforts aimed at reducing property crime and improving public safety.
