Washoe County Sheriff’s Office detectives in conjunction with the Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office are updating the public today on a death investigation which began in the early morning hours of Thursday, February 3, 2022, on the southbound lanes of I-580. A deceased woman was found in a burning vehicle. Detectives are now investigating the woman’s death as a homicide.
The woman has been identified by the Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office as Anna Scott, 23, of Reno. She was pronounced deceased at the scene. The manner of death was homicide. According to the Medical Examiner’s Office, the cause of death is pending further investigation.
Detectives wish to remind the public that only information released by the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office and/or the Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office is deemed to be credible. Detectives’ primary goal is to solve Scott’s homicide, and to bring justice to Scott and her loved ones.
