Missing woman at Pyramid Lake found by Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Team

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Team is pleased to announce that 34-year-old Cindy Matthews has been found near Pyramid Lake and has been reunited with her family. Matthews went missing at approximately 9:00AM on Sunday, September 4, 2022, near the west shore of Pyramid Lake. Matthews was found by the WCSO Search and Rescue Team at approximately 12:00AM on September 5, 2022. Matthews was found suffering from dehydration and sunburns and was treated on scene. The WCSO Search and Rescue Team, Incident Management Team, HASTY Team and Specialized Vehicle Unit were all involved in this search and rescue operation.
