Washoe County Sheriff’s Office to Impose Detention Center Lockdown for Weekend Deep Clean
Due to the lockdown all visiting and programs are canceled for Saturday and Sunday

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office is putting the Detention Facility in lockdown Saturday and Sunday, November 21-22, 2020 for an intense deep cleaning.

The 353,000 square foot facility will undergo a professional three-step disinfection, protection, and certification process. The aerosol disinfectant, applied with a mister, kills 99.9% of bacteria, viruses, fungi, and molds including COVID-19.

Due to the lockdown all visiting and programs are canceled for Saturday and Sunday. Normal business operations will resume Monday, November 23, 2020.
