Donations still needed for this year's Christmas on the Corridor |

Reno, Nevada. Over 2,000 needy children and seniors who live in Reno's 4th, 5th and 6th Street "Corridor," along with selected students from Washoe County elementary schools, are expected to receive fun and useful gifts for Christmas this year as part of the annual "Christmas on the Corridor" event sponsored by the Reno Sparks Corridor Business Association and the Washoe County Sheriff's Office.
Donated items will be distributed on Saturday, December 17. Distribution begins in the Live-stock Events Center at 8:00 a.m., and then moving throughout the corridor starting at 10:00 a.m.
What started out as simply handing out cookies to a couple of hundred children has grown into a huge benefit for the community. Donations of following items are still needed to help make this year's event a success:
- Clothing for children and tweens (Coats, hats, and gloves)
- Backpacks and school supplies
- Toys of all kinds for all ages
- Games and books for teens and tweens
- Monetary donations & Gift cards
- Shampoo, soaps, toothpaste, toothbrushes
- Volunteers
- Books on CD, puzzles, paint by number sets, slippers, lap blankets, and anything else that would be appreciated by seniors

The Washoe County Sheriff's Office, Reno Sparks Corridor Business Association, and their partners both public and private endeavor to bring Christmas to many children who would otherwise go without. They also sponsor families throughout the year providing food, clothing, everyday essentials and school supplies.
