Washoe County Sheriff's Office deputies located and arrested the suspect in the robbery of the 7-Eleven store in Lemmon Valley early this morning thanks to a quick and coordinated response.
At approximately 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, deputies responded to the report of a robbery that just occurred at the 7-Eleven near the intersection of Lemmon Drive and Surge Street. According to the clerk, a male subject threatened her, demanded money and merchandise, and then fled the store.
The first deputy on scene confirmed the suspect's description with the clerk and relayed the description to other responding deputies. Deputies spotted a person matching that description a walking path north of Lemmon Drive and detained him. The subject was in possession of the stolen cash and merchandise, and admitted to committing the robbery.
The suspect was identified as Joseph Essling-Marcuson, age 28, and booked into the Washoe County Detention Facility for robbery.
