Washoe County Sheriff Chuck Allen, members of his staff, and staff from the Nevada Highway Patrol will help wait tables at Reno's Claim Jumper restaurant this Thursday evening to raise support for Special Olympics Nevada.
The Sheriff encourages residents to make dinner plans that include a good meal for a good cause by coming to Claim Jumper between 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2018.
The Sheriff, along with others from the Sheriff's Office and NHP, will serve as hosts and waiters throughout the evening. All tips that they earn will be donated to Special Olympics.

Where: Claim Jumper Restaurant, 4905 S. Virginia Street, Reno
Special Olympics
- Provides sports training and competition opportunities to 22,052 children and adults with intellectual disabilities
- Provides practices and 184 competition opportunities per year to the athletes at no cost to the athletes or their families
- Has 9,846 special education student-athletes participate in the Schools Partnership Program with the assistance of over 33,444 general education peer partners
- Receives limited federal funding, but relies on fundraising events like the Tip-a-Cop for support
