Washoe County Sheriff's Office detectives are asking for the public's help with information that could assist the ongoing investigation of a deceased person located inside a vehicle on the northeast side of Peavine Mountain Thursday night.
Shortly after 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2018, Sheriff's Office dispatch was notified of a possible deceased person located inside a vehicle on a Peavine access road approximately one mile up the mountain from Virginia Street. Deputies responded and located the vehicle with a deceased person inside.
Sheriff's Office detectives are conducting the death investigation and would like to hear from anyone who may have seen the vehicle, or witnessed any suspicious persons or activity in the area during the past week.
The decedent is a white male adult. The vehicle is described as a Blue Toyota RAV4/SUV.
Anyone with information that could assist this investigation is asked to contact the Washoe County Sheriff's Office Detective Division at (775) 328-3320 or Secret Witness at (775) 322-4900.
The Washoe County Medical Examiner will conduct an investigation to determine cause of death and confirm the identity of the deceased.
