Sheriff Allen offers an insider's look of the Sheriff's Office during a Community Open House on September 29

Washoe County residents and their families are invited to join Sheriff Chuck Allen, and the men and women of the Washoe County Sheriff's Office, for an insider's look at how the Sheriff's Office operates during a Community Open House from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 29.

The Open House gives residents the opportunity to see the Sheriff's Office resources that help keep the community safe. Visitors will also meet some of the many people who are entrusted to carry out the Sheriff's commitment to our community.

What: Washoe County Sheriff's Office Community Open House

When: 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 29, 2016

Where: Sheriff's Office Headquarters, 911 Parr Boulevard, Reno

The day features walking tours of the Patrol Division, Records and Civil Sections, and Special Operations along with displays of patrol vehicles, RAVEN, SWAT, Marine 9 and other equipment used by the Sheriff's Office.

The Sheriff's Office will also offer guided behind-the-scene tours (must be 14 years and older) of Forensic Sciences Division (Crime Lab) and Detention Facility.

The Open House is free to the public. No reservations needed, just come to the Sheriff's Office located at 911 Parr Boulevard any time between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
