Fugitive Investigative Strike Team (FIST)
Mission Statement: The mission of the Nevada Fugitive Investigative Strike Team (FIST) is to promote public safety through the expeditious and judicious apprehension of fugitives by providing progressive leadership and coordination within the law enforcement community. To this end, Nevada FIST will employ innovative investigative techniques, provide high quality training programs, and promote the highest professional and ethical standards in law enforcement. Accomplishments will contribute to the vitality of our city and region.
Mission Goal: Our goal is to perform assigned duties and functions safely and expeditiously while maintaining our professionalism and reflecting a positive image of the U.S. Marshals Service and our community.
The District of Nevada’s FIST Task Force’s duties and functions include:
- FIST uses resources and management coordination supplied by the District of Nevada’s Marshal’s Service and is comprised of federal, state and local law enforcement.
- FIST adopts federal, state and local fugitive cases for investigation and arrest focusing on apprehending felony fugitives wanted for violent criminal offenses with particular emphasis on narcotics related crimes, violent crime, crimes against children and sex offenses.
- Management and Program Analyst. Responsible for analyzing existing District administrative procedures to identify more efficient and effective methods for accomplishing District program objectives and recommending changes/improvements to District management, financial management program, procurement program, Human Resources program, records management program and the property management program. Prepare special projects, briefs and point papers for the District of Nevada’s Marshal, Chief Deputy and Supervisory Deputies. Assigned duties of Intranet and Internet Web Site Manager.
