On January 12, 2018 at approximately 5:37 P.M., the Washoe County Sheriff's Office responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian accident at the intersection of Lakeshore Boulevard and Village Green in Incline Village.
A preliminary investigation indicates 78 year old Roza Mostova, of Berkley, California, was crossing northbound Village Boulevard in the marked crosswalk. Mostova was stuck by an SUV traveling westbound on Village Boulevard and sustained life threatening injuries. The driver of the SUV immediately called 911 and rendered aid to Mostova. Mostova was transported to RENOWN medical center via Care Flight and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The Washoe County Sheriff's Office Major Accident Investigation Team responded to the location and are currently conducting an on-going investigation.
The driver involved in the accident remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators. It does not appear drugs and/or alcohol were a factor for the driver in the accident.
The Sheriff's Office is asking anyone with information about the accident to contact Deputy Joe Colacurcio at (775)328-3350.
The Sheriff's Office will provide additional information at the conclusion of the investigation.
