Everyone invited to the Sheriff's Office annual Community Picnic on Sunday

The Washoe County Sheriff's Office is having a picnic and everyone is welcome. The Sheriff's Office invites all Washoe County residents and their families for lunch this Sunday along with a chance to meet with staff from all areas of the Office and see what they do to help keep Washoe County safe.

The picnic takes place from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 18 at the Incline Village Aspen Grove/Village Green picnic area on Lakeshore Boulevard in Incline Village. Barbequed burgers and hot dogs will be served alongside displays from all areas of the Sheriff's Office, including:

  • The RAVEN helicopter
  • The Sheriff's Lake Tahoe Patrol Boat Marine 9
  • Forensic Science Division (Crime Lab)
  • SWAT
  • K-9s
  • Motors
  • Detention Response Team (DRT)
  • Consolidated Bomb Squad
  • Sheriff's Office Reserve Program
  • Search and Rescue
  • Community Emergency Response Team

Free Child I.D. Kits will be offered and Washoe County Regional Animal Services will be on hand to provide free pet microchipping.

Displays from partner agencies including the Nevada Highway Patrol, Incline Village General Improvement District, North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District, The Bear League, Incline Village Community Hospital, the Nevada Department of Wildlife, Nevada State Parks, and the Nevada Dept. of Transportation bicycle safety program.
