Washoe County Sheriff's Office Detectives are asking for the public's help with identifying two juveniles believed to have caused more than $40,000 in damage to a number of homes under construction in Spanish Springs.
The vandalism occurred to five homes located in the area of Mystic Sands Drive and Topaz Creek Drive sometime between 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2016 and 6:00 a.m. on Friday, June 10.
Damage to the homes included graffiti, ripped out insulation and damage to sheetrock.
A hose was placed through the back door of a house on Topaz Creek Drive and water was left running all night, resulting in several inches of standing water inside the home.
According to construction workers, total damage in property and labor costs is estimated between $40,000 and $50,000.
Witnesses describe seeing two juveniles in the area of the construction site on the evening of June 9. The juveniles are described as being two males approximately 12 to 14 years of age. One has blonde hair, the other brown. They were last seen heading in the direction of Mystic Mountain Court.
Witnesses also reported seeing a blue bicycle and a green bicycle in the area. The bicycles may be related to the suspects.
Anyone with information about the two juveniles described is asked to contact the Washoe County Sheriff's Office Detective Division at (775) 328-3320 or Secret Witness at (775) 322-4900.
