The Washoe County Sheriff's Office and the FBI conducted an operation this afternoon which led to the arrest of Andrew Casacca of Sparks.

Mr. Casacca was under investigation for misconduct of public official. The investigation stems from activity that allegedly took place in March 2014 while Casacca was employed as a Deputy Sheriff with the Washoe County Sheriff's Office.
Upon hearing of the misconduct, Casacca was put on leave from the Sheriff's Office and an internal investigation was conducted. Casacca resigned from the Sheriff's Office in December 2014.
A joint investigation with the Washoe County Sheriff's Office and the FBI was conducted into the alleged activity of Andrew Casacca. At the conclusion of this investigation, the findings were delivered to the Washoe County District Attorney's Office. A warrant for Andrew Casacca's arrest was issued and with the assistance of Washoe County ATAC detectives, Sheriff's Office K9, the FBI, and the DEA task force Casacca was taken into custody this afternoon without incident.
Casacca was booked into the Washoe County Detention Facility and booked on misconduct of public officer, a felony, and is being held on $ 5000.00 bail.
