Barbeque burgers, classic cars and cops come together for a great cause: Cops and Burgers Show-N-Shine 2016

Washoe County Sheriff Chuck Allen hosts the annual Cops & Burgers Show-N-Shine event this Sunday and invites everyone to help him support Special Olympics Nevada by coming out for an afternoon of classic cars, music and barbequed burgers.

The 9th Annual Cops & Burgers Show-N-Shine event will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at Baldini's Casino in Sparks.

Sheriff Allen and members of his staff will be busy doing the barbequing while you enjoy the many different cars featured in the Show-N-Shine. Burgers, chips and a beverage will be on sale for $5, with proceeds going to Special Olympics Nevada.

Visitors will also have a chance to meet and talk with a number of law enforcement special team members, including Sheriff's Office SWAT team, K-9s, Search and Rescue, the Citizen Emergency Response Team and Reserve Program. Horses and riders from the Sheriff's Office and Sparks Police Department's mounted patrol units also plan to attend.

The Show-N-Shine is open to all cars, trucks and vehicles, any year. Registration is only $25 and includes dash plaque, a meal ticket and raffle ticket. Registration opens at 8:00 a.m.

The annual Cops and Burgers Show-N-Shine is one of hundreds of events conducted by the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Nevada. The Law Enforcement Torch Run partners with communities to raise public support Special Olympics programs and their athletes.
