Sheriff's Office investigates fatal accident in Sun Valley |

The Washoe County Sheriff's Office Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) is investigating a fatal, single-vehicle accident near the intersection of Sun Valley Boulevard and Arapahoe Drive Friday morning.
The accident took place at approximately 6:15 a.m. on Friday, January 15, 2016. According to investigators, the vehicle was traveling westbound on Arapahoe Drive when it failed to stop at the stop sign on Sun Valley Boulevard. The vehicle then crossed Sun Valley Boulevard, coming to a rest in the ditch on the west side of the boulevard.
The driver, described as an adult male, was transported to a local hospital where he was later declared deceased.
The Washoe County Medical Examiner's Office is currently in the process of conducting a formal identification to determine the exact cause of death and formal identification of the victim as well as next of kin notification.
The Sheriff's Office is asking for information from anyone who may have witnessed this accident. Witnesses may contact the Sheriff's Major Accident Investigation Team Office at (775) 328-3350.
