Just after midnight tonight, August 15, 2015, suspect Russell Roberts was taken into custody by local authorities.
In a joint operation with Washoe County Detectives and patrol Deputies, along with The Reno Police Department SET and robbery-homicide Detectives and Detectives from The Sparks Police Department, Roberts was located at a motel in the 600 block of 4th Street in Reno. Roberts surrendered to authorities without incident and was taken to a local hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to his leg.
Russell Roberts will be booked into custody on the outstanding warrants and other charges after he has been cleared from the hospital.
The Washoe County Sheriff's Office, Reno Police Department, and Sparks Police Department would like to thank the public and Secret Witness for the information provided, which led to the capture of this suspect.
