UPDATE! The Sheriff's Office reports that all four dirt bikers have been identified thanks to a Facebook tip. Deputies are currently in contact with the juveniles and their parents.
The Washoe County Sheriff's Office released a video today showing four unknown dirt bikers illegally riding their motorcycles at Washoe County's Gator Swamp Park in Spanish Springs on Saturday, July 11 and Sunday, July 12, 2015.
The bikers have already caused an unspecified amount of damage to the park. A concerned citizen provided the Sheriff's Office with the attached video which Deputies hope will help to identify the suspects before more damage is done.
The four dirt bike motorcyclists violated Washoe County codes related to destruction of property and operating a motorcycle or an off-road vehicle on public or private land within 1,000 feet of any residence owned or occupied by another.
The safety of park users is also of concern to the Sheriff's Office and Washoe County Community Services Department staff. Gator Swamp Park is visited by people of all ages who like to recreate in the large turf area, playground and playing fields.
The video is available from the Washoe County Sheriff's Office Facebook page or by using the following link: https://youtu.be/9D8buulVRWg
The attached photos are also from Sunday's incident.
Anyone who recognizes the bikers in this video based on their bikes, clothing or helmets, is asked to contact the Washoe County Sheriff's Office Patrol Division at (775) 328-3350 or Secret Witness at (775) 322-4900.
