The Washoe County Sheriff's Office is asking the public to be on the lookout for a wanted suspect who fled from Deputies earlier today following a traffic stop in Sun Valley.

Rupert Boehling, age 27, of Sun Valley is wanted on an outstanding felony warrant from the Nevada Department of Public Safety's Parole and Probation Division.

Boehling is described as a white male, 5 feet 10 inches tall and approximately 180 pounds with blue eyes and short brown hair. He has a tattoo on the left side of his neck.

Just after 9:00 a.m. this morning, Boehling was stopped for speeding on 7th Avenue in Sun Valley by a Washoe County Sheriff's Patrol Unit. A female and two children were in Boehling's vehicle at the time.

After initial contact, Boehling sped off in his vehicle, driving recklessly and at a high rate of speed into the Highland Ranch area. Deputies chose not to continue the pursuit of Boehling at that time for safety reasons, and because his identity was known to them.

Boehling is then believed to have abandoned the vehicle and was last seen in the Highland Ranch area on foot. Patrol Deputies searched the area with assistance from K9 Units, Detectives and RAVEN however Boehling was not located.

In addition to his outstanding felony warrant, Boehling now faces additional charges of Eluding, Reckless Driving and two counts of Child Endangerment.

Anyone who has seen Boehling, or may have information about his whereabouts, is asked to contact the Washoe County Sheriff's Office Patrol Division at (775) 328-3350 or Secret Witness at (775) 322-4900.
