Washoe County Sheriff's Office Detectives arrested Michael Hernandez, age 20, of Cold Springs on Wednesday, May 27 on one charge of Child Abuse Causing Substantial Bodily Harm.
Hernandez's arrest is the result of an investigation into an incident that occurred on Friday, February 21, 2015 involving injuries to Hernandez's five-month-old son.
According to investigators, Hernandez had sole care of the infant at the time the child suffered severe trauma to the head. Family members had the child transported to a local hospital for treatment. The Sheriff's Office was notified and began the investigation which led to Hernandez's arrrest.
