Washoe County Sheriff-Elect Chuck Allen will take the Oath of Office along with other local elected officials during a special session of the Washoe County Board of County Commissioners scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 5, 2015.
Immediately following his swearing-in as Sheriff, Allen will participate in a Change-of Command Ceremony. The ceremony will include the passing of the Sheriff's Office flag from the old administration to the new, a tradition that dates back to the time of Frederick the Great to publicly illustrate a change in leadership.
