Sheriff's Office conducts checks of local businesses for alcohol sales to minors |

The Washoe County Sheriff's Office cited 14 area businesses for selling alcohol to minors during an underage drinking laws enforcement program conducted over the first two weekends of May.
Supported by a grant from Join Together Northern Nevada, Sheriff's Office Deputies and an underage buyer conducted checks of over sixty businesses located throughout Washoe County on Friday, May 2 and Saturday, May 3, and again on Friday, May 9 and Saturday, May 10.
Washoe County Sheriff's Office is committed to the safety and security of the public. Limiting the availability of alcoholic beverages to minors helps to reduce alcohol related incidents and accidents in the county. The Sheriff's Office encourages the public to report any type of underage drinking activities by calling (775) 785-WCSO (9276) or Secret Witness at (775) 322-4900.
Join Together Northern Nevada (JTNN) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing the impact of substance abuse in Washoe County by improving access to prevention, intervention and treatment services.
