Director of the SPCA Tom Jacobs and Washoe County Regional Animal Services Director Barry Brode felt that partnering the two agencies for free vaccination and microchipping clinics would be an important service for pet owners.

"It is important for the SPCA, and it is one of our missions, to ensure dogs have a rabies vaccination," Jacobs said. "And who better to partner with than Washoe County Regional Animal Services. It is for the pet's benefit and for the benefit of our community".

"Joint outreach efforts such as this gives both our agencies an opportunity to work together toward a common goal of greater public safety and animal welfare," Brode said.

The SPCA will have their mobile Spay and Neuter van on-site along with their Licensed Veterinarian to oversee the rabies vaccination process. They will also be offering other low-cost vaccinations during this event.

Washoe County Regional Animal Services will have their Mobile Command Center on-site along with their Licensed Veterinarian Technician and staff members to assist with microchipping.

A grant provided by Maddie's Fund has covered the costs associated with the Rabies' Vaccination and the microchips.

"Both the SPCA and Animal Services are grateful for the funding and the unwavering support of Maddie's Fund. We appreciate their ongoing commitment to our community," Brode said.
