of providing law enforcement, search and rescue, dispatch, and civil
process services for an area of about 60 square miles, from the

northeastern shores of Lake Tahoe. Dispatchers handle calls for
the Patrol Division, North Lake Tahoe Fire and Rescue, Pyramid Lake
and Tribal, and Animal Control. An administrative clerk is responsible
for processing work cards, fingerprints, Concealed Weapons Permits
(CCWs), and civil process as well as assisting in case preparation.
The Incline Substation
sponsors a Citizen's Academy, which has successfully graduated over
100 citizens from ten separate sessions.

Village varies greatly with the seasons. The base population is
approximately 9,000 residents. The scenic beauty of Lake Tahoe and
the numerous recreational opportunities including boating, bicycling,
swimming, hiking, and other outdoor activities, brings many visitors

bring tourists for cross-country and downhill skiing, snowboarding,
and snowshoeing.
The elevation at Lake
Tahoe begins at 6,250 feet and climbs to 9,000 feet at the peak
of Mt. Rose summit. Weather conditions change rapidly in the area;
therefore, all visitors are urged to contact the Department of Transportation
for road conditions prior to traveling.
