The Civil Section is responsible, as mandated by state statute, to provide the civil service process in both civil and criminal cases throughout the County. Staff members process and serve thousands of court documents each year. A wide variety of papers are handled by the Civil Section, including temporary protection orders, subpoenas, summons, writs of execution, and court hearing orders.

The Civil Section is staffed by one sergeant, two deputies, six full-time investigative assistants, and nine office personnel. The Civil Section is expected to grow as demands for services increase and the population of Washoe County expands.

OFFICE HOURS

 Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., except holidays.
