The Washoe County Sheriff's
Office is concerned with keeping the community informed about the
operation of the Sheriff's Office. One of the ways to accomplish
this is by regularly keeping the news media, and thereby the public,
informed of events involving the Sheriff's Office and its personnel.
The Public Information Officer (P.I.O.) coordinates this by acting
as a liaison between the Sheriff's Office and media representatives.
Duties include assisting reporters assigned to cover news stories
and providing them with general information at the scene of major
incidents. Our goal is to provide timely and factual information
to the community we serve.
The P.I.O.
is available 24 hours a day to respond to the scene of major incidents.

Suspect in Custody for Salt Lake City Murder Case
United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force comprised of Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, U.S Marshals and Nevada Department of Parole and Probation, arrested a Carson City man for a 2009 murder that occurred in Salt Lake City, Utah.
On January 26, 2010, Deputies arrested Andrew Brundle, 27, during a traffic stop near the corner of King and Mountain Street in Carson City. Working on information provided by Salt Lake City Marshals Fugitive Task Force, The Reno Task Force located and arrested Brundle on an outstanding felony homicide warrant. He was booked into the Carson City Jail and is being held on $100,000 bail awaiting extradition to Salt Lake.
Brundle is wanted by police in Salt Lake City for his involvement in a September 2009 murder of 50 year old Doug Brundle his uncle.
