Washoe County Sheriff’s Detectives are searching for a male who was involved in an altercation in the parking lot of the Red Rock Shell Station on Father’s Day.
Sunday afternoon at approximately 3:00 PM, Deputies responded to a report of a physical altercation at the Red Rock Shell. The initial investigation revealed that the victim was traveling north bound on US 395 when a silver Toyota pickup pulled in behind the victim and continued to follow them at a close distance. The Toyota pickup abruptly swerved, passed the victim vehicle and then quickly swerved back in front of the victim vehicle and proceeded north bound on US 395.
When the victim pulled into the Red Rock Shell gas station they observed the suspect vehicle parked in the parking lot. The unidentified male suspect began approaching the victim vehicle and yelling at the victim. The suspect then went back to his silver Toyota pick up filled with camping gear, retrieved a baseball bat and walked back toward the victim.
The suspect swung the bat striking the top of the victim’s vehicle and victim. The victim, who has a valid Carry Concealed Weapons permit, exited his vehicle pointed his weapon at the suspect and advised him to leave. The suspect continued to advance toward the victim with the bat. The victim struck the suspect and a physical altercation ensued. The victim was able to wrestle the bat away from the suspect. The suspect then got into his vehicle and fled North bound on US 395.
The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information on this crime to please contact Detectives at 328-3320 or Secret Witness at 322-4900.
